It’s the Second of February and the new VolluzPhoto.com, this website, is due to be published sometime tomorrow, the Third.
It has been an interesting experience, to say the least, and a steep learning curve. WordPress is a very versatile environment, but it is not an easy system to learn. There is a great deal of WYSIWYG interface, but to fine tune details, HTML is the language that needs to be spoken to the CSS (Cascading Style Sheets). Indecipherable codes add all the proper spacing, text centering, width of headers, and other formatting that I wanted for VolluzPhoto.com, that wasn’t directly provided with the Theme I purchased.
I must say that Kris, at ThemeGoods, has been very responsive in answering my questions and providing me with information and customized code that I needed to get the site to do just what I wanted. There were some appearance modifications I just gave up on and found another way to change. For example, because of a problem in the formatting of the Portfolio summary pages, the titles were run up against the text block with no separating space. I tried to modify the actual code in the file that generated the page, but in the time I had to get this site up, I could not figure out how to enter a blank line between the two pieces of text. I settled for typing a space – hyphen – space, ” – “, at the beginning of each text block to separate the two. This wasn’t worth bothering Support about with all the other problems I could not figure out.
I have removed all of the non-VolluzPhoto.com demo content, and hope that the structure is now working properly. If not, I hope someone out there will tell us so we can correct any gaps quickly. I am working also on bringing in more photographs and videos to expand examples of our products. Then we will begin to work on listing those products we have for sale.
Thank you again for your patronage and interest.
